DESCRIPTION:The Warrambui young adults Camp is a community-focused gathering centered on the theme “Together in Christ\,” aimed at reconnecting young adults and older congregation members after a long break from youth camps. Running from Saturday morning to Sunday morning at the Warrambui Retreat and Conference Centre\, the event encourages fellowship and communication about future community goals through a mix of high-energy and relaxed social activities. Come and Join Us for a fun day of Frisbee golf\, Archery\, Handball\, Board games and Card games\, optional bushwalk and an evening campfire featuring a theme-centered devotion\, prayer\, and songs. DESCRIPTION:‘Lord\, Renew your Church’ \nFor Jesus\, prayer is the first order of business. We know from research that all revitalised Churches are undergirded by a powerful prayer movement. The first District Prayer Gathering was held at Mount Carmel Retreat Centre in November 2023 and already we are seeing the fruit of this weekend. \nThe 2024 Prayer Gathering will be held 23 – 25 August at Warrambui Retreat and Conference Centre. Some of the topics we will be looking at this year include how to run studies\, how we might be able to improve our camp introductions\, and learning more about campers with additional needs and how we can cater for them. \n Safe Church Information: All 18+ leaders must complete SP3 Level 1 training or SP3 Refresher training prior to attending leadership camp so we can talk about this training at leadership camp. In this unit\, taught by Frontier School of Mission dean\, Dr Mark Worthing\, participants will learn basic skills of reading the four Gospels. They will look at the different portrayals of Jesus in the synoptic Gospels and in the Gospel of John. There will be a focus on how Jesus was understood in the Gospels and how various groups view Jesus today.

DESCRIPTION:Frontier School of Mission \nIntensive Training – INTRODUCTION TO PREACHING \nPort Macquarie\, NSW \n21-25 August 2023 \nDr Tim Stringer will be leading this unit\, designed especially for current lay preachers and those preparing for this role. The intensive will also be of interest to experienced preachers who are interested in honing their skills of public proclamation within the current preaching context. Special attention will be given to missional preaching\, the use of multi-media\, and delivering sermons via various on-line platforms. Participants will learn not just how to exegete a biblical text\, but also how to exegete (or read) a congregation. There will be opportunity to deliver a short sermon in class and receive feedback\, as well as to deliver a sermon in an appropriate setting after the intensive and receive further feedback.
