Bishop's Welcome
One thing holds us together, and that is the gospel. The good news is that Jesus came into the world not to condemn but to bring people back into a loving relationship with God.
The Lutheran Church in NSW and ACT may not be large, but we have a big heart. We are part of the worldwide Lutheran Church, with many brothers and sisters in other states of Australia and the neighbouring countries of New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Indonesia.
We are an Australian multicultural church with members coming from over 35 different countries, including the continents of Asia, Africa, North and South America and Europe.
We are a growing community of churches, some with histories of over 100 years and some less than a year old, and we have plans to start new churches in the years to come.
The Lutheran Church in NSW and ACT worships in both traditional formats and in very contemporary ways. The form depends on the local people.
One thing holds us together and that is the gospel. The good news is that Jesus came into the world not to condemn but to bring people back into a loving relationship with God.
We can’t live lives of meaning without God – as much as we all try to do so sometimes – so God is doing everything he can to connect again with you and me.
So on behalf of the people of the Lutheran Church in these wonderful two regions, I pray God's blessing upon you and that our church might be able to help you in your journey of coming to know God personally.
– Bishop Robert Bartholomaeus
