NSW Working With Children Check

A Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required for anyone working or volunteering in child-related work in NSW. It involves a National Police Check (criminal history record check) and a review of reportable workplace misconduct.

To complete a NSW WWCC, follow the link here.

All pastors (including emeriti) in NSW in active service are required to have a verified WWCC.

Lay workers, paid employees and volunteers in NSW who provide child-related services and activities must have a verified WWCC.

If you are visiting from interstate and working with children for fewer than 30 days, the check from your home state is sufficient.

All NSW WWCC are verified through the NSW and ACT District Office. Please contact the District Office for more information.

ACT Working with Vulnerable People registration

Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration requires those who work or volunteer with vulnerable people to have a background check and be registered.

The WWVP form for completion and submission is available through Access Canberra here.

All pastors (including emeriti) in the ACT in active service are required to have a WWVP card and present it to their organisation for verification.

Lay workers, paid employees and volunteers in the ACT providing child-related services and activities must have a WWVP card and present it to their organisation for verification.

If you are visiting from interstate and working with children or vulnerable people for fewer than 28 days, the check from your home state is sufficient.

A record of all verified ACT WWVP checks will be maintained through the NSW and ACT District Office. Please contact the District Office for more information.
