Weddings
Our pastors are able to assist you with your wedding, as your celebrant. They are able to help you with a wedding worship order, suggested readings and guidance about the wedding service.
Lutheran Pastors are authorised by the Australian Government to officiate and solemnise marriages, according to the Lutheran Church of Australia rites for marriage.
There are a number of basic conditions that need to be met prior to your wedding day including:
- You must give at 31 days written notice to the pastor on Notice of Intended Marriage form (available from the pastor). It is best to contact the pastor far earlier than this to ensure they are available for your special day.
- You will need to undertake some pre-marriage counselling prior to your wedding. Please discuss this with the pastor
- You need to be able to be legally marry (over 18, not currently married to anyone else, and not being forced to marry).
You are free to choose the location for your wedding day.
If your location is not mentioned above or you are unable to contact a pastor, please contact Bishop Richard Schwedes 0418 303 406 for a recommendation of a pastor to assist you and officiate your wedding.
